Considering the transient temperature field of the bearing
the transient responses of rotor-bearing system to mass unbalance are performed. The tracks obtained by considering three-dimensional temperature and two-dimensional adiabatic temperature and not considering the temperature are compared with the tracks obtained by using dynamic characteristic coefficient method of linear oil-film. The results show that the rise of temperature must be considered in the analysis of the stability of rotor-bearing system. In addition
it is confirmed that the dynamic characteristic coefficient method can only be used under small disturbance condition.
