For the rotation of the metal belt transmission with rare-earth permanent magnets
the discrete magnets on the belt roller impose on the metal belt a periodic excitation.This excitation can cause transverse vibration of the belt that is mostly adverse for the metal belt transmission.The magnetic force is analysed by the finite element analysis software ANSYS
and the mechanical model is given.The transverse vibration of the metal belt transmission with rare-earth permanent magnets can be checked by the research result and theoretical support for the appropriate design of this kind of metal belt transmission is provided.
