The optimization design issues of harmonic gear `transmission were studied
and its fuzzy optimization design model with discrete variables was set up.The basic ant colony optimization algorithm was improved by introducing rebirth of ant colony.In order to make the optimization design be used in engineering directly
design variables were located at discrete points satisfying engineering requirements in optimization searching.A program of improved ant colony algorithm was designed with the language of MATLAB.An example of harmonic gear transmission optimization design
with discrete variables
was given based on improved ant colony optimization algorithm.
