According to the 3D scattered measuring data

a digital model of spiral bevel gear or hypoid gear tooth surface is developed by NURBS method.A fairing objective function is proposed by energy methodology and using the exterior penalty function method fairs the tooth surface.Fairness of tooth surface can decrease the effect ion of the measurement error and make the following TCA easier. The calculating examples show that this method is practicable and effective.
