A novel electromechanical integrated drive system driven by electrostatic force is proposed
whose basic operating principle is also described. The flexspline of the drive system is simplified as a circular cylindrical shell by applying reasonable hypothesis. The electrostatic force acting on the shell symmetrically is developed in Fourier series form. Based on the employment of appropriate displacement function
the clamped-free flexspline is examined. The unspecified coefficients are obtained through iterations. In the end
the stress distribution along the neutral surface is presented. It is useful for the design and research of the drive system.
