Abstract

From the definition of backlash

the geometric elements of normal backlash and circumferential backlash are given by analyzing the meshing process of a pair of external involute cylindrical spur gears in geometrical method.In further

the formula of normal backlash define type and symmetrical type is deduced and some properties and characteristics of normal backlash are discussed.
