The jacking gear box is the core component of the jacking system of the Jack-up Drilling Platform

and it’s necessary to monitor the load torque of the last stage gear of which when the jacking system is in operation.In this research project

a monitoring device for measuring the load torque of the gear is designed.The monitoring device consists of the gear shaft itself as torque sensing element

torque converter transmission parts and sensors installed in the gear shaft

and corresponding measuring circuit.Through the load calibration test on it by using a special loading device and the results are good.
