Aiming at investigating the applications of field modulated magnetic gear（FMMG）in electric vehicle drive

firstly

combined with the basic principle of magnetic gear

a new motor combined with the FMMG when it is embedded into the ordinary permanent magnet motor is gained

its simulation model is established by applying the principles of electromagnetic and electric machinery.Then the combined motor is applied to electric bicycle and its force model is built to research electric bicycle start state and cruise state on a level surface and slope pavement respectively.Simulation results show that the electric bicycle equipped with FMMG

whether on a level surface or on the slopes

can achieve the desired speed and keep a smooth ride

the desired result is got.
