In order to improve static and dynamic performance of the stand column that is the important supports of the gear hobbing machine
the stand column is optimized on strength and weight optimization.The structure modeling in 3Dand analyzing in static and dynamic are carried out by using the software platform of Pro/E-ANSYS
then the model is optimized according to the static stress deformation

the first 5natural frequency and the corresponding vibration mode.The results show that the strength is increased and the weight is decreased by about 6.18×103 kg after the optimizing
some references for the reasonable design and optimization of the stand column are provided.
