In order to control the excessive noise caused by gearbox noise when a heavy vehicle accelerating

the noise and vibration on the key parts of the gearbox are tested and analyzed

and the peak noise frequency of emission from gearbox sub-box is found

and the main frequency componentis the same with the peak frequency of vehicle accelerating noise.Aiming at the larger gear noise of transmission sub-box

the vehicle accelerating noise lowered 3.9dB（A）by transforming helical gear on the sub-box

and the value of vehicle accelerating noise on the vehicle is below the national standard limit.So

a practical basis for the vehicle noise and the fault diagnosis of gearbox is provided by the method.
