According to the correlative knowledge of methods mechanics and calculus
the design equations for calculating the bending rigidity and stretching or compressing rigidity about the four kinds of composite flexural hinges are conducted. As an example
the correctness of the design equations for calculating the rigidity of the cornerfilleted flexural hinges is validated based on the finite element method. The comparison among the rigidity of the four kinds of composite flexural hinges is carried out based on the analytic method
and the results show that the bending rigidity and stretching rigidity of the ellipt icalrectangle flexural hinge is the smallest. The rigidity of the four kinds of flexible Ttyped coupling rods which is respect ively composed of the four kinds of composite flexural hinges is compared
and the results show that the competence of deformation compensation for the flexible Ttyped coupling rod that is made of the ellipticalrectangle flexural hinge is the most optimal.
