Aiming at the disadvantages of the existing disc cam including limited application scope and non-uniform hardened layer
a conjugate quenching method is proposed which can achieve the purpose of uniform hardened layer
wide application scope and easy manipulation based on the special movement because of the geometrical close of the conjugate cam. Applied the induction heating theory
the electromagnetic-thermal coupled analysis is conducted during the heating process with different clearance among 1mm and 5mm between inductor and work piece. The result shows that the quenching time is increased while temperature
hardened layer thickness and heating efficiency are decreased with the growth of clearance.
