Focusing on a tracked vehicle auxiliary braking system
analysis and calculation of engine braking is conducted. An optimal control strategy of auxiliary braking is put forward based on drive shaft maximum affordable deceleration. When there is no regenerative braking
engine brake force can be used effectively by gearbox shift strategy to reduce the braking force requirements for frictional brakes based on the calculated results of engine braking. When there is regenerative braking
the braking priority sequence is generator braking
engine braking
and finally frictional braking.A forward simulation model for regenerative braking system of tracked vehicle is built. The simulation and analysis under typical driving cycles is conducted. The results show that the control strategy and the models are reasonable and feasible.
