When a spiral bevel gear is working its tooth contact stress has direct effect on its service life and safety.Using reverse engineering technology of CATIA
the 3D model of spiral bevel gear is built.And using the seamless connection interface of CATIA and ABAQUS
the gear model is imported into finite element analysis software ABAQUS.In the ABAQUS Environment set the material of the gears and then contact stress analysis of the spiral bevel gear is completed under the conditions to get the most dangerous place for local stress and strain.
