To improve the meshing quality and the performance of the driving mechanism in spiral bevel and hypoid gears
an approach of a fixed frequency clock signal to subdivide the pulse of angular displacement sensor was proposed
and the transmission error(T.E.) measurement model was established.Based on the datum subsampling for the synchronous time interval
the sequence signals of T.E.in time-domain were reconstructed
and then the spectrum analyses were achieved.Finally
the experiment platform for transmission error measurement was constructed
and the accuracy of T.E.was verified by the experiments of hypoid gears meshing.The results of the experiments show that the velocity approach will provide the experimental basis to the processing or modification in spiral bevel gears design or hypoid gears design
