Hybrid electric vehicle（HEV）is a kind of vehicle equipped with two or more sources of power.It has good power performance

higher economy and lower emission.Automatic transmission technology is a key technology of HEV

it can guarantee the work efficiency of the various component of the powertrain

and enhance the vehicles ability to adapt to complex working conditions

and can make use of the motor to improve the shift quality.The necessity and advantage of the automatic transmission technology using in hybrid electric vehicle is analyzed.Some kinds of typical automatic transmission technology applying in HEV is introduced

and the outstanding advantage of AMT technology for HEV is expounded.Finally

the development of automatic transmission technology in Chinese HEV is discussed.
