In order to improve bearing capacity and compactness of the roll system
a method of double circular arc conical surface transition curve for roll neck is put forward.Owing to obtaining the optimized line shape mathematical model of transition curve is set up by means of the theory of material mechanics and binding singular function and Laplace transformation.A finite element coupling model of short-stress line mill is established based on production process and rolling theory
which simulated the pressure distribution and bending deformation.It is concluded that σmax of the roller has decreased by 15% and εmax by 10.8%.Therefore the optimization method provides a theoretical basis for decreasing bending stress and improving the integral stiffness.
