A mathematical model of a McPherson independent suspension was built.The kinematical characteristics of McPherson independent suspension were analyzed basing on the method of spatial mechanism kinematics.Simultaneously
a multi-body kinematical model of a McPherson independent suspension and the steering system was developed using ADAMS/CAR module.The similar suspension kinematical characteristics were also implemented.The consistence of both results showed that either method is accurately fit for analyzing the kinematical characteristics of McPherson suspension.
