When the detailed stress and strength distribution are unknown

we can calculate its reliability coefficient by the Linear second order moment method. In addition

an actual example of gear reliability design is carried out

and its result shows that the method is feasible and practical. At the same time

some methods of treatment random variable in reliability design are given.
