Submission Instruction

 

Journal of Mechanical Transmission (former title Gear) was founded in 1977, supervised by China Machinery Industry Federation and co-sponsored by Zhengzhou Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering Co. Ltd, Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and China Machine General Components Industry Association. The Mechanical Transmission Branch of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society provides academic support for the journal. The journal is included by Chinese Core Journals, Key Magazine of China Technology, Chinese Core Academic Journals, Statistical Source Journals of China Science Citation and Comprehensive Evaluation Database of Chinese Academic Journals, Qikan China, China Academic Journals (CD), Wanfang Data, CQVIP, Chaoxing, Full Text Database of Chinese Journals, and Core Journal (Selection) Database of China.

 

Section 1 Publishing Scope

The journal mainly reports the latest achievements, technologies, manufacturing processes, and trends in the field of mechanical transmission (including gear transmission, mechanism, chain transmission, belt transmission, mechanical infinitely variable transmission, etc.), focusing on theory, design, experimental research, measurement, material heat treatment, manufacturing, lubrication, etc. The columns include Theory•Research, Design•Calculation, Test•Analysis, Development•Application, TechnicsPractice, Experience and Information, etc. Submission, subscription and advertising from the machinery industry are welcomed.

 

The journal works to promote the instructiveness, scientificity, innovation, timeliness and applicability when selecting manuscripts to publish. The journal will give publishing priority to articles belonging to National Key Scientific and Technological Research Projects, NSFC projects, provincial or ministerial level research funding projects and articles with significant theoretical or applicational value.

 

Section 2 Fees

A review fee of RMB 200 yuan will be charged for manuscripts that meet the basic requirements of the journal (the article number should be noted when remitting). Once the review fee is received, the manuscript will be sent out for external peer review. Generally, review results will be returned to authors within two months. Page charges shall be payable before publication (RMB 500 Yuan/Page).

 

 

Section 3 Copyright

(1) Journal of Mechanical Transmission is an open access journal. Once published, all articles will be immediately and permanently available for readers to read and download free of charge. Permitted third party reuse of the articles published by the journal is defined by the following user license: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). This license allows reusers to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format. The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as the license terms below are followed: reusers must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. Reusers may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses the use. Reusers may not use the material for commercial purposes. If reusers remix, transform, or build upon the material, they may not distribute the modified material. The authors have right to spread or make use of the article under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 License. (2) The editorial office would make wording amendments to the accepted articles. Authors shall be responsible for their own writing. Multiple submission is not allowed.

(3) Authors should sign the Copyright Transfer Agreement and transfer the copyright of the article to the editorial office of the journal, including the right of compilation, translation, reproduction for print and online versions, distribution and online dissemination. The term of copyright transfer is from the effective date of the Copyright Transfer Agreement to the December 31st of the 50th year after the article is published.

(4) The journal has been included by a number of third-party databases. The authorization fee would be paid together with the remuneration of publishing. Submission to this journal will be deemed as agreed to the database inclusion of the article unless otherwise stated by authors.

(5) Since 2015, all journal articles have been digitally archived and can be searched and downloaded from the journal website. In order to ensure data security, all information has also been backed up in the editorial office. Before 2015, the hard and soft copy of each issue of the journal had been kept in the editorial office for archiving. In addition, other relevant materials are also kept by the editorial office, such as supplementary information and forms provided by the authors.

 

Section 4 Writing Requirement

(1) The article should be innovative and practical.

(2) The article should have clear points, sufficient argument, good structure, reliable data, authentic material, concise writing, and the terminology should be unified and standardized.

(3) Title should be concise and accurate, well reflecting the topic of the article, generally within 20 Chinese characters. Beneath the title there should be listed the authors’ institutes, addresses, zip codes, authors’ names, abstract and 3-5 keywords, all those above both in Chinese and English. Abstract is a short article that aims to provide a brief outline of the article, without comments or explanation, which should be independent and self-explanatory, and should consist of four parts: objective, methods, results and conclusion.

(4) The experimental photos, audio, video, source code, formula process and other contents that are not suitable to be included in the main body text can be uploaded to the submission system as “supplement” or sent to the editorial office via E-mail.

(5) If the article is funded by a project, the title and number of the funding project shall be noted.

(6) Punctuation marks shall be used correctly. The use of Chinese Characters should be in accordance with Simplified Chinese Character Table. Superscript and subscript should be used correctly.

(7) The variables should be in italics; the matrix and vector are in bold italics; the units of measurement should be in accordance with international standard.

(8) In-text figures shall be clear and informative, with headings and serial numbers. Multi-color pictures shall be avoided. Physical quantity, symbol and unit shall be marked at coordinate axes.

(9) Three-line styles should be adopted for tables (with headings, serial numbers and column subheadings). Physical quantity, symbol and unit shall be marked clearly.

(10) Headings of figures and tables, and Chinese literatures in the references list shall be translated into English.

(11) The meaning of English acronyms and physical symbols in formula shall be explained when they appear for the first time in text.

(12) The references cited in the article should be listed at the end of the article (preferably more than 15 literatures). The references are numbered in the order of in-text citation and marked with numbers in square brackets, such as [1], [2] … Please try to use references published in recent years. When the same literature is quoted for more than one time, the page number shall be marked at the in-text quotation. The format of references should comply with Information and documentation—Rules for bibliographic references and citations to information resources (GB/T 7714-2015).

 

Section 5 Submission Method

Please guarantee the personal information of authors is accurate when submitting the articles, so that bills or sample journals would be posted successfully. Please refer to Manuscript Template – 2019 at our website www.jxcd.net.cn. The journal has not entrusted any organization to submit articles on behalf of authors. In addition to the manuscript, supplementary documents should also be provided including Copyright Transfer Agreement, Authors Contribution Form and Statement of Competing Interests.
