Influence of Temperature on Lubrication and Friction Characteristic of Wet Clutch Friction Pair
A thermal mixed lubrication model in plane contacts is developed and the local temperature rise is considered. The influence of temperature on lubricant film thickness, local pressure distribution, local temperature rise and the load sharing ratio of micro convex peak are analyzed by computing on Sinusoidal rough surface and Gaussian rough surface. The results show that, as the temperature rises, lubricant film becomes thinner, so that more micro convex peak contacts emerge and the rise of temperature increases. As a result, the load carried by micro convex peak increases gradually, the local temperature rise increases, the load carried by the micro convex peak increases gradually. However, the load carried by the lubricating oil film decreasing, but it is still noticeable and not negligible.
